War of words on Article 370
ET Report
JAMMU, Dec 7: A week after BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi kicked-started debate on Article 370, the Congress leadership has realized that BJP has been getting publicity with the debate gaining momentum.
As a visionary politician Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad realized that unnecessary controversy was created on Modi's speech because there was no need to react on this statement.
Addressing a function organised by Choudhary Lal Singh, MP, at Kathua, Azad launched indirect attack on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for unnecessary reacting on Modi's statement on Article 370 and giving him (Modi) unwanted publicity. "It is habit of BJP leadership to raise one issue in one state and another in another state to trigger controversy for taking political mileage", he said while referring towards Narendra Modi's controversial statements. "Those who raised Article 370 has no work to done but those who unnecessary reacted on his (Modi's) speech has many others things to do rather reacting on such statements", he said without naming Omar Abdullah.
Indirectly attacking National Conference leadership for giving publicity to Narendra Modi after his Lalkar Rally, Azad asked, "what was new in BJP's stand on Article 370?". He added the for the last 60 years BJP has been sticking to this stand as far as Article 370 was concerned so what was the need of giving such panic reactions to Modi's speech.
As reported earlier National Conference has been consolidating its position in Kashmir Valley by indulged into a debate with BJP on Article 370. BJP on the other hand exploiting this issue in the country to further expand its base. Shockingly Congress, which is partner of the National Conference in Jammu, is losing in the State as well as in the country.
Azad not only indirectly attacked Omar Abdullah for giving unnecessary publicity to Narendra Modi he also highlighted achievements of the previous PDP-Congress regime to taunt present regime. Azad especially mentioned name of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for taking historical steps during his tenure.
