Azad not to contest Lok Sabha election from J&K

Ghulam Nabi Azad today put a full stop on rumours that he would contest Lok Sabha elections from Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat. "Some people have been spreading such rumours just to create differences about my contesting elections from Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat", Azad said and made it clear that sitting Lok Sabha member Chowdhary Lal Singh would be party candidate for this seat.
"Some people have habit to spreading mis-information campaign", he said and asserted that Lal Singh is strong candidate and he is popular among masses.
Azad said that Congress would contest on the basis of the performance of the UPA government. He said that UPA regime has taken many revolutionary steps for the welfare of the people.
