| Third Front resolves to hold Conventions at district HQs | | Not for electoral purpose, mass rapport must: Tarigami | | It is a broadbased movement: Hakim Yasin Early Times Report
Jammu: Notwithstanding the Bandh call given by BJP in Jammu today, Third Front-an amalgamation of 7 major political constituents managed its first convention well with a larger message that this conglomerate is all set to expand its base in all the three regions of state. The Peoples United Front ot Awami Mutahhida Mahaz as it is popularly known resolved in the one day convention that it organises such political activities in all the district headquarters of Jammu region. What emerged as even more vital message from all the speakers is that the Front with some veteran politicians on board that they want, what they claimed, to make it work on the lines of bringing about unity at regional, religious and community levels.
"The peoples United Front leaders have unanimously supported the idea of organising such conventions at all district headquarters in time to come......", said MY Tarigami who is the convener of the Front. This is however not for electoral purposes or political gains, he said adding that the larger motive is to establish contact and constant rapport with the masses in all the districts. The Peoples United Front which came into being , no matter is trying to project and establish itself as an alternative to existing political parties at the regional level, also decided in the convention today to interact with the masses on regular intervals in order to get their feedback on the problems they are facing in day to day lives. This is considered to be a crucial exercise ahead of Assembly elections next year with an aim to get the Front registered well with the masses.
Even as the constituents of the Front are from various political hues, the leaders who have so far associated with it want to give it an image of a forceful political option to people in general and voters in particular who are fed up with both the regional parties as well as national parties which are in reckoning in the political scenario of the state. " We want to make it as a broad based movement ...not a simple political alternative", said Hakim Mohammad Yasin, another stalwart who floated this Front along with other leaders two months back. There are lot of issues like unemployment , price rise , inflation and above all misgovernance on all fronts, he said adding that people want to get rid of the existing dispensation and in search of one that can provide some relief, he added.
There is administrative insentivity and people feel offended by the approach of the political and bureaucratic set up, said Tarigami adding that the Front has also resolved in the convention today that it would evolve alternative policies to cater to the need of the people al all levels , at the grass root level where alienation has touched new high.
