| Sikh community demands immediate release of innocent Sikhs | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 22: Jammu and Kashmir Sikh community today demanded immediate release of innocent Sikhs here at press club Jammu. According to press release, JK Sikhs community said that since the dark era of Punjab conflicts, hundreds of Sikh youths were put behind bars without any justified reasons. Many of these are still behind bars although they have completed their sentences. It is pertinent to mention here that Sikhs have been the integral part of India and have laid down their lives for sake of nation but are now being treated as second class citizens and are not given due justice. The microscopic minority is being ignored on all fronts. We have taken the opportunity to bring before you the fact that since last 39 days Gurbakhash Singh Khalsa is sitting on a hunger strike at Gurdwara Amb Sahib, Mohali, Punjab with demand to release the innocent Sikh youths languishing in different jails so that they can lead a dignified life, this is a burning issue for the entire Sikh community and we endorse the genuine and just demand of Gurbakhash Singh. They urged president of India to take stock of matter and direct the concerned state governments as well as government at the centre to review all such cases judiciously and release the innocents in the interest of community as well as the entire nation. |
