| NMC appeals PM to immediately constitute committee on 7th Pay Commission | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 22: President National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed to the Prime Minister to immediate constitute committee on 7th Pay Commission comprising Chairman and other members of the commission to set up before the applicability of code of conduct for the next General election adding that the decision in this regard should be taken in the next cabinet meeting. Addressing meeting of NMC workers at Satwari, Shastri emphasized the need for the early announcement ibid as after the code of conduct, the Central Govt. would unable to take such steps for the 7th pay commission. Pleading the cause of both Central/State Governments employees and pensioners, Shastri also urged Dr. Man Mohan Singh to adhere to the recommendation of earlier pay commissions to merge 50% DA after crossing more than 60 percent. He pointed out that there remain no point to delay the appointment of Chairman and other members of the 7th pay commission for which, the Prime Minister has already made the announcement said and adding that any further delay in it would create adverse impression in the minds of crores of employees including pensioners. Stressing on the need for early sanction of 20% Interim relief in favor of Central and State Government s employees and pensioners, Shastri urged Dr. Singh to intervene personally and take decision at the earliest in view of inflation and steep hike in the prices of essential commodities. He urged that the Central Govt. should be provide special package to all states for meeting the expenditure on account of interim relief so that there are no financial constraints for them to provide interim to the State Governments employees and pensioners. Release of 10 percent along with 3rd installment of 6th pay commission arrears, amendment in SRO 64, minimum wage should be raised to rupee ten thousand per month, issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily wagers working in Rural Development department, enhancing medical allowance to rupee one thousand per month and immediately release of pending wages of casual labor of PWD were other demands highlighted in the meeting. |
