Jammu, Dec 22: A deputation led by Choudhary Manmohan Singh President, All India Jat Mahasabha J&K today met with the Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad to discuss various pending issues of Jatt community to grant them OBC status ownership rights, one time settlement of refuges of 1947-65-71, problems of border area residents and also recent damages to crops due to floods. During his interaction, Choudhary discussed the recent cabinet decision by the Central Govt granting the OBC status to all Jats in India but the Jats of J&K was not mentioned in the decision when declared. Azad assured the deputation that OBC status will be granted to Jats in J&K, along with the other states. Moreover he also invited Choudhary Mannmohan Singh to present this matter to the party high command in Delhi, with the fellows members. He confirmed that central Govt as well as the party high command pressuring the State Govt, for the decision of settlement on refugee issue and the relief package designed by State Govt is already under consideration and hopefully will be forwarded soon for its funding apporval by cenral Govt. |
