JAMMU, Dec 30: The lone battle fought by middle order batsman, Hisham Fahi, who played splendid 88 runs unbeaten innings, powered J&K to 62 runs first innings lead against Haryana in the Cooch Behar under-19 Cricket tie underway at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here today. However, batting under pressure, the visiting Haryana side made 115 runs for the loss of four wickets in their second innings. Shamsher Yadav and LS Kumar were at stumps batting at 44 and 22 runs in their respective accounts. From J&K, Rohit Sharma bagged two wickets for 19 runs in 12 overs while A M Mangnoo and PA Sharma shared apiece each. Earlier, J&K resumed their innings from overnight score of 114 runs for six and brought the total to past 200 mark. Hisham Fahi, who was batting at 31 with Lone Nasir (02), kept the scoreboard moving making 88 not out with the help of eight four. Though Lone could not make it a big individual total, but he kept the strike rotating thus provided needed support to Hisham. Lone added 11 runs to the total. Guided by Hisham's brilliant batting, J&K made 205 runs in 79 overs to take 62 runs first innings lead. From Haryana, V V Kakal took three wickets while Shamsher Yadav and Himanshu Bishnoi shared two each. |
