Crime Branch produces challan against Proprietors of Lakshmi Traders

Jammu, Dec 30: Crime Branch Jammu has produced challan in the Court of Sessions Judge Samba today against the three accused persons (proprietors of Lakshmi Traders) for procuring sub standard cement of different brands from local factories of Kathua and Jammu and thereafter refilling same spurious cement in bags of Ambuja and ACC and selling the same in open market. According to spokesperson of Crime Branch the challan in FIR No.18/2012 u/s420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 482, 486, 487 and 120-B RPC against the was produced against accused persons namely as Saber Singh alias Sambav Singh s/o Tej Ram r/o Mahanpur Billawar presently Adrash Nagar Barnai, Road Bantalb Jammu, Khem Raj s/o Naro Ram of Kotli, Birpur, Bari Brahamna and Krishan Singh s/o Jabbar Singh of Kothey Morh, Bari Brahamna for procuring sub standard cement of different brands from local factories of Kathua and Jammu and thereafter refilling the same spurious cement in bags of Ambuja and ACC and selling the same in open market. Brief facts of the case are that a case was registered on the basis of information received through reliable source that Saber Singh, Khem Raj and others under the name and Style of Lakshmi Traders situated at Purmandal Road, Birpur are refilling local brand cement in bags of Ambuja and ACC and selling the same in open market as branded cement. During the course of investigation a raid was conducted by the team of Crime Branch, Jammu in which two trucks bearing registration No.JK02V-9297 and JK08B-7231 were seized. "Liyaqat Hussain S/o Jamal Din R/o Bandi Chechian, Poonch driver of Truck No.JK02V-9297 during questioning deposed that he got truck loaded from the cement store (Lakshmi Cement and Iron Store, Purmandal Road, Birpur Distt. Samba) and produced a challans No.2034 and 2036 dated 24.07.2012 of M/s Shiv Shakti Cement Store and as per challan the cement was dispatched for Surankote Sanai. Crime Branch team found the business establishment namely Lakshmi Cement and Iron Store, Purmandal Road, Birpur open and truck No.JK08B-7231 was found outside the store for unloading which too was seized and one of the accused namely Khem Raj was arrested on the spot while two accused absconded however all of them later were bailed out by the court of law, official spokesperson said.
He added, "Standard sampling were lifted from the spot and were sent to FSL, Jammu alongiwth samples taken from the spot. From the investigation conducted into the matter, the above mentioned offences were clearly established against these accused persons were challaned in the court of law for judicial determination. "The next date of hearing in the case has been fixed on 10.01.2013, official added.
