| PWAC urges DDC to begin process of renewal of gun licenses | | | early times report Kathua, Dec 30: Members of People Welfare Action Committee (PWAC) today called on Deputy Commissioner Kathua and urged him to begin the process of renewal of "Gun licenses" and to protect the "Goshala". District president Gyan Singh Pathania said alleged that the district administration has deliberately denied the renewal of gun licenses in the district since long, due to some unknown reasons. "It is reported to the committee that some influential people and particular community is given preference but other community is denied for the same", he said. He also said that a "Goshalla" which was constructed in few years back, to rear stray cows and to give shelter to them, has been lying in worst condition due the lack of proper facilities and management. "The administration had assured us to extend helping hand but nothing has been done so far and condition of Goshala is deteriorating", he said, and urged upon the administration for redressal of same. They threatened to choose the path of agitation, if their demands would not be conceded soon. |
