| CWA meets RTO Jammu | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 7: Deputation of the Consumers Welfare Association (CWA) today called on Regional Transport Officer, Jammu in his office chamber at Transport Nagar. The deputation was led by its President, Vikram Gour and was accompanied by others dignitaries. As per the statement issued, It was brought to the notice of the RTO that large number of trucks and buses including some condemned vehicles as well are being parked on roads and lanes in various parts of the city especially in and around Nanak Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Railway Station Road and Transport Nagar making it difficult for normal traffic movement and causing Traffic Jams. The RTO agreed to approach the V.C JDA in this regard for allotting a specific plot in Transport Nagar for the idle parking of such vehicles. Besides this issue the delegation members also shared about the dilapidated condition of road from Fruit Mandi to RTO's office owing to which the vehicles owners are facing problems regarding change of spare parts. The delegation members further discussed the difficulties faced by public in obtaining driving licences, renewal of licences, registration of vehicles and the like were brought to the notice of RTO. The RTO, as per the statement asked them to approach VC JDA with him for early redressal of the problems being faced by the residents as well as vehicle owners. CWA thanked RTO for sparing his precious time and appreciating the genuine demands made by CWA. |
