1/7/2014 10:16:37 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 7: National Secular Forum (NSF) today staged protest demonstration at university campus to express dissatisfaction over the functioning of the central university Jammu.
President of Forum said that it was shocking that the Vice-Chancellor has appointed Professor NR Sharma as first Dean Students Welfare (DSW) of the varsity who has been over-aged retired professor.
The post of DSW is an administrator. As per the Central University Statutes, DSW officer should not be above 62 years but the VC has recruited Professor N.R Sharma as DSW who is above 65years," he said. In the process, all deserved candidates were ignored.
He further said that land has been identified by the government but till date this land is not acquired by the CUJ and no construction has started on the identified land.
"We fail to understand the silence of the organizations which fought for local person as the first Vice Chancellor of the university Jammu had got this prestigious institution after long struggle and no corrupt official should be allowed to ruin this institution," NSF leader said.
