| MES engineer found dead in hotel | | | ET Report
Jammu, Jan 7 : A Ludhiana based engineer in Military Engineering Services (MES) was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hotel room this morning. "Daljeet Singh (35) son of Harpaal Singh of Ludhiana was found dead in the washroom of a room in Hotel Sant in Jewel area this morning", said a police official.He further said that the deceased was working as a junior engineer in Military Engineering Services (MES) and was posted in Akhnoor.
Police said during questioning, the hotel staff said that the victim had checked in at the hotel on Monday and today the staff knocked on the door of his room several times, but got suspicious when there was no response. When they forced the door open later, they found Daljeet dead in the washroom. Police further said that after getting the information, they rushed the spot but no suicide note or other documents found from the hotel room. A police official further said that the deceased has head injury and might be died after he slipped in the washroom but it is very premature to say anything while the exact reasons behind the death can be ascertained only after post-mortem report. He further said that questioning of family members and his colleagues is on to reveal about his presence in the hotel. Inquest proceeding have been launched in this connection at Nowabad police station. |
