CSC on creation of New Administrative units holds meeting with APD
Parties unanimous, threaten agitation over ignoring public aspirations

Jammu, Jan 7: After remaining isolated for over five months in the wake of August 9 Kishtwar communal riots, united political class of Kishtwar speaks tough over the issue of creation of new administrative units in Kishtwar. The expressions came up during a meeting of Cabinet Sub Committee the members of which arrived at Kishtwar today . The meeting of all party delegation was held with CSC under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand and warned that in case the government fails to keep its promises over the creation new administrative units in the Kishtwar District and ignore public aspirations, it would face resistance from the people by way of agitation.
As per the details available with "Early Times", Cabinet Sub Committee on creation of new administrative units in state of Jammu and Kashmir headed by Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today visited Kishtwar District and held a meeting with all party delegation with regard to creation of new administrative units in Kishtwar District. Besides Deputy CM Tara Chand, Minister for PHE, Flood Control and Irrigation Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for Planning, Labor and Employment Ajay Sadhotra, Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Minister of Agriculture Ghulam Hassan Mir and Commissioner Secretary Revenue Vinod Koul all members of committee along with DC Kishtwar Baseer Ahmed Khan, SP Sanjay Kotwal, ADC, ADDC and other officers were also present as members of the committee. Political representatives from various parties including MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori put forth suggestions and demands before the cabinet committee which includes division of existing Padder block into 3 blocks, Inderwal (Chatroo), Kishtwar, Nagsini and Thatri blocks into 2 blocks, beside creation of new blocks including Palmar, Kuntwara, Sigdi, Saroor, Sarthal, Nali Bhunzwah, & Keshwan. Demands for status of Sub Division for Marwah, Padder, Chatroo & Mandal area of Kishtwar and Thatri of Doda District was also raised. Stress was also laid on creation of new Tehsils for Dachhan, Nagsini, Bhunzwah and Sarthal/Saroor of Kishtwar District, Qarra and Figsoo of Doda District, Naibat for Palmar, Drabshala, Sigdi & Keshwan. The speakers also demanded that whatever kind of new creation is taken into hand should come into existence with full staff strength and also infrastructure.
The speakers also demanded appointed of independent BDOs in all blocks of the District rather than giving additional charge to BDOs of other blocks. All the 5 ministers arrived at Kishtwar at 10.10AM via state chopper.
The meeting started at 10.30 AM at New DC Office Complex Kishtwar and lasted till 11.40 AM. While speaking on the occasion, Congress MLA Ghulam Mohammad Saroori said that Kishtwar is among the largest District in state having an area of over 7800 Sq miles and added that it is impossible to deliver on public front in the District without fulfilling all the demands raised by the political representatives of Kishtwar District.
He spoke clearly before the committee members and threatened to launch an agitation in case the issues and demands raised before the committee with regard to creation of new administrative units could not be fulfilled. PDP's Syed Asgar Ali when contacted said that these new units will address the problem of backwardness, economic disparities and usher a new beginning of development in the region.
He said that beside creation of new administrative units, the government must construct Officer Hostels in areas like Marwah, Dachhan, Padder, Nagsini and other areas so that the officers deputed in the area did not face any accommodation problem while serving the people.
The committee gave a patient hearing to all the demands and concerns of people and assured full cooperation on the issue, Chairman of the committee Tara Chand said that a comprehensive criteria based on all aspects will be applied in creation of new units and added that all the aspirations of people will be taken care of. He also said that the committee will ensure full justice with all the regions in creation of new administrative units.Among the prominent who attended today's meeting include Sunil Sharma, Rajinder Kumar from BJP, Ex. MLA Qazi Jalal Din from NC, Umar Malik, Noor Hussain Malik, Suresh Sharma from PDP, Ajaiz Naik, Saddat Hussain, Shanawaz Hussain from NCP, Des Raj Baghat, Dewan Chand from BSP, Thakur Jughal Bhandari, Mohinder Parihar from Congress, beside social activists also participated in the meeting.
