KATRA, Jan 7: Expressing concern over the recent directions of the Division Bench of the State High Court to seal over 90 commercial and residential structures in the holy town of Katra, the general public of Katra town said that most of the buildings falling in the present case are fully approved and made in accordance with the Master Plan norms but were not properly represented in the court of law by the concerned authorities. In a general meeting of the public of Katra held here today at Raghunath temple under the Chairmanship of senior citizen of the town and ex-president Municipal Committee Katra Mulkh Raj Purohit in which MLA Reasi Baldev Raj Sharma, MLC Jugal Kishore Sharma, President Hotel and Restaurant Association Katra Shyam Lal Kesar, BSP State General Secretary Rakesh Wazir, PDP District President Partap Krishan, PDP leader Sher Singh, Ex. Administrator Municipal Committee Katra Shyam Sharma and several others participated. The participants said that if the present judgement order is strictly adhered leaving aside the buildings of private parties which have got minor violations most of the government buildings will get ceased on the pretext that they have come without any permission from KDA/Municipal committee and falls in category one of the order. The meeting expressed anguish on the manner in which the case was presented with regard to agricultural use because the fact was not brought into the knowledge of the court even that Katra has a full fledged Master Plan fully approved by the Chief Minister, Ministers of the Cabinet including the Revenue Minister himself and Master Plan. The participants said that authorities instead of making hasty steps and issuing notice after notice and showing keenness in sealing the genuine buildings immediately should bring the things into the knowledge of the court by properly representing it and should move keeping in view the genuineness of the people. After the meeting, the people took out a procession which passed through the main bazaars and culminated at Bus Stand Katra.
