| Symposium under 'National Social Assistance Programme' held | | | ET Report Samba, Jan 20: In connection with the ongoing intensive publicity awareness campaign on National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) launched by the state chapter of Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, (Govt. of India), Jammu organized a Symposium on National Social Assistance Programme at Ajanta Higher Secondary School, Gho Rakwalana in Vijaypur.The programme was organized in order to sensitize and mobilize the masses in general and rural masses in particular with a special focus on the needs of people below poverty line residing in rural as well as urban areas of the country. N Gulshan Raina (IIS), Publicity Officer from the organizing department was the Chief Guest on the occasion while it was presided over by Harbans Lal Langhe, Chairperson of the host school. Atleast six participants participated in the symposium expressed their views on the subject. A panel of three judges adjudged Kashu Pandey, Rahul Sharma and Avimash as top three winners respectively. Later the meritorious participants were honored with prizes by the galaxy of officers and other dignitaries. In his address the chief guest Raina stressed upon the audience to avail maximum benefits of all flagship programmes undertaken by the Govt. of India from time to time for their betterment, upliftment and development. He also spelled out the aims and objectives of such awareness programmes for the common masses directly at the grass root level. He further highlighted the significance of such awareness programmes from time to time for the awareness of "General Masses" especially the inhabitants of rural India. While presenting vote of thanks, Langhe appreciated the efforts made by DFP in making the rural masses aware and requested the organizing department of more such awareness programmes on other themes and topics in the near future so that the rural masses may be able to know more and more about various centrally sponsored developmental schemes. During the occasion publicity literature on NSAP was also distributed among the gathering to make them aware of this National Programme. |
