Et Report Jammu, Jan 20: Prof. Bhim Singh, Sr. Advocate in the Supreme Court of India was felicitated by lawyers from different organizations, associations and committees in Delhi for having been elected second time to the Executive of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA). Prof. Bhim Singh has also been designated to head sub-committees of Culture and International Affairs also.The Sr. Secretary of State Legal Aid Committee, BS Billowria said that Prof. Bhim Singh shall be the first Sr. Advocate from Jammu Pradesh who has been elected to the Executive of the Apex Court of India for the second time. Rohit Pandey, Advocate, Supreme Court and former Executive Member described Prof. Bhim Singh as an inspiration to the young blood in the Bar who has encouraged the young lawyers and the students of law through his advocacy and practice. DK Garg, Advocate and Former President of Advocates-on-Record in the Supreme Court expected hope that Prof. Bhim Singh shall be able to work for the smooth relationship between the Bench and the Bar through his statesmanship and approached to Indian jurisprudence which has a bigger relevance in the social life in India. Vijay Pratap Singh, Advocate from Legal Aid Cell described Prof. Bhim Singh as a beacon light for the younger generations in the legal fraternity. Prof. Bhim Singh is the only senior office bearer in the SCBA who is directly and actively involved in a recognized political party, J&K National Panthers Party. He is also a Member of the National Integration Council, headed by Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister of India. Prof. Bhim Singh was also presented a memento and a shawl for his unique contribution for the downtrodden and the wretched of earth through his free legal aid mission. Prof. Bhim Singh has been providing free legal aid to the poor, needy, helpless and penniless persons to ensure delivery of justice irrespective of their caste, creed, religion, region or even country. He has ensured release of hundreds of foreign prisoners from Indian jails, mostly Pakistanis and the young boys from Punjab and Kashmir in the past 20 years. He has been taking up public interest litigation for the employees, workers, students, youth and penniless. He assured that he will utilize his advocacy for those who cannot afford to engage lawyers in the courts. |
