REASI, Feb 28: Over 1.5 lakh pilgrims from within and outside the State visited Holy Cave Shrine Shivkhori during the three day historic Shivkhori mela being held at Ransoo to pay their obeisance and seek blessings of Lord Shiva. The Additional Deputy Commisioner, Rajinder Singh Tara, who is also Vice Chairmam of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board and Assistant Commissioner Revenue Tilak Raj, who is also E.O SSKSB remained stationed at the mela site to oversee all arrangements of boarding, lodging, sanitation, medicare, electricity and drinking water supply besides foolproof arrangements of security made by Reasi Police. For the comfortable stay of yatris, Shivkhori Shrine Board and Tourism Department have created adequate lodging facilities at base camp, Ransoo and near the cave shrine. Various developmental activities are also going on for the facility of pilgrims. To create awareness among the masses about SVEEP, various state and centrally sponsored schemes including employment generation schemes, various departments had put up their stalls at TRC Ransoo where a large number of people of the area visited these stalls. Various social organizations including Shivkhori Mandli, Katra, had installed free langers at mela site and enroute cave shrine. The awareness counter for SVEEP formulated under the guidance of Dr Jagdish Mehra, PO DRDA was the main attraction for all. On the eve of Mahashivratri, Vishesh Pooja followd by puran-auhuti by known pandits was performed besides chanting of religious hymns in the praise of Lord Shiva at the Cave Shrine during last evening which lasted till late night. |
