Samba, Feb 28 : See the fate of government structures constructed with hefty amounts that they are proving to be of no use for the general public, as recently constructed District Hospital Samba sans facilities and staff owing to which general public is facing problems. The people of Samba have expressed grave concern over deteriorating Condition of District Hospital abandoned by health department after shifting to new building. An expert said that the district having an estimated population of 3 lakh people is all dependent this hospital. The hospital is also a ray of hope for Army and BSF personnel. Even the shortage of machinery has been highlighted several times by the local through protests, but the concerned have turned their deaf ears towards the pubic issue. The issue was also put forth before the Minister concerned by MLC S C Gupta on the floor of the house demanding an urgent remedy from the government but action is yet awaited. The hospital comes in between Jammu and Kathua district and during any causality or injury the only option is to shift the patient to the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu in shortage of staff to operate basic machinery like Elevators, Ultrasound facility, CT scan machines. According to information received from Health Department, 10 posts of B. Grade Specialist, 14 posts of Medical Officers, 2 posts of Dental Surgeon, 150 posts of Paramedical Staff/Driver, 16 posts of Ministerial Staff and 46 posts of Class IV and Safaiwala's are lying vacant in district Samba. Pertinently Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, inaugurated the new building of 70 bedded Hospital. On the pattern of other district hospitals, we sought to fill all 238 vacant posts of Samba district also. In this regard we had written a letter to Director Health Services, said, Kartar Chand, Chief Medical Officer. |
