Et Report Jammu, Feb 28 : The Range Police Jammu today organized an Anti-Drug rally and awareness camp on drug addiction in Satwari and Chatha areas under Civic Action Programme.DIG Jammu Samba Kathua Range, Shakeel Ahmed Beig, flagged off the rally in which large number of students from various schools, Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent citizens participated. Students carrying banners and placards chanted anti-drug slogans in the rally.Later on, a debate competition was also held wherein heavy participation of students were witnessed, as per the police release. Beig said that the objective of such programmes is to save precious human lives by keeping the people away from drug abuse especially young generation. He said that children are the appropriate source to help in eradicating the menace of drug as they have to face the brunt of these evils in the society. He added that drug abuse plunges a happy family into saddest family if the only source of family is lost due to this abuse. He urged upon the students to be firm to say no to drug and help the drug addicts to remain away from such abuses. Beig was accompanied by Rahul Malik, SP South Jammu, Rajnish Pran, SP SO to DIG Jammu, Parshotam Sharma, DDP RPHQ Jammu, Prashant Mahajan, CPO RPHQ Jammu, Harjeet Singh, SDPO South Jammu and others. Later, the DIG gave away trophies to Rajdeep Singh of class 9th of Unique Public School, Dilpreet Kour of class 11th of St.Peter Hr. Sec. School and Angita Kour of class 11th of Unique Public School who were declared 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in the debate contest for delivering best speeches on drug addiction. |
