| Azad's tenure as J&K CM can be remembered as golden era of State: Vakil | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Mar 26: Former Minister and member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil today described the brief tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad's as Chief Minister of J&K State as a golden and unforgettable era. He said that Azad’s historical decisions ranging from creation of eight new districts, implementation of Roshni Act, opening of Poonch - Rawalakote road, Mughal Road, construction of Yatri Niwas, Haj House, and enactment of stringent Anti Corruption Laws are enough to sustain the claims that Azad possess a competent and visionary foresight. He said that as Union Health Minister Azad recently sanctioned five new Medical Colleges for the State which will definitely lead the State towards achieving self reliance in Health sector besides compete with other States. He said that Ghulam Nabi Azad being a selfless leader believes in peace and prosperity and there exists no example which can be cited from the history of state politics where such multiple contributions have been made by anyone in this shortest duration. He said his vision for equitable development and prosperity of common masses has helped the Congress in achieving popularity in all the three regions of the state. He reiterated that Azad's unrelenting efforts and visionary policies resulted in empowerment of common masses which is the reason that people are now comparing the era of Azad with the tenure of other leaders and they reach to a prudent conclusion that no past example exists in this behalf. Vakil was addressing a party workers meeting in Gurdan Bala and Dana in Rajouri District. While addressing the gathering Vakil lashed out at BJP for their divisive and conflict oriented politics, he said that their leaders lack adequate vision for the country and as they are obsessed with power. He cautioned voters about divisive politics and urged them to vote for Congress. Spelling out the outstanding performance of UPA Government at the Centre led by Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Vakil said that India has shown remarkable growth and progress in every field which stands acknowledged at international level. He said Congress has always stood for secular, democratic India and worked for prosperity and overall development of all sections of the society. Vakil also impressed upon people to vote and support Madan Lal Sharma an upright, honest and dedicated Congress nominee for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency to get benefitted from his past experience and knowledge. |
