| Conference on ‘Mathematics analysis and its applications’ organized | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 27: One day national level conference in Mathematics on the topic "Analysis and its Applications" was organized by Department of Mathematics in G.G.M Science College.
The chief guest on the occasion was Sheikh Mushtak Ahmad IAS, Secretary to Govt. Higher Education Deptt. J&K Govt., Director Colleges Higher Education Deptt.
Prof. T.A. Kawoos presided over the function and Special Secretary, Higher Education J&K Govt. Anil Gupta was guest of honour. The guests were welcomed by Prof. (Dr.) N.K.Resutra nodal principal Jammu Division colleges.
In his presidential address, Mushtak Ahmad, stressed upon the need for excellence in Higher Education.
He congratulated the college administration for organizing such an event as such events give a platform for young and experienced scholars to share their knowledge for ultimate welfare of the society.
While recalling the ancient history he said India had been a great seat of knowledge in the form of Nalanda and Takshshila universities and stressed upon the youth to work hard to regain the lost glory.
He gave an overview of the various central schemes like SSA RMSA and RUSA for the betterment of society in general and student community in particular.
Director colleges, Higher Education Deptt Prof T.A.Kawoosa emphasized the need for organizing such events on regular basis.
In his welcome address, while giving a brief account of achievements of the college, Dr. Resutra exhorted upon the importance of mathematics and hoped that the budding mathematicians will be greatly benefitted out of this conference.
He said that the college is sanctioned Post Graduate course in mathematics by the concerned authorities and hoped that the first session will start this year itself. |
