| BJP asks Omar to refresh his memory | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 27: Taking serious exception to Chief Minister's recent statement that big fish eats the small one while speaking at a function during the filing of nomination papers by Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad as Congress candidate from Kathua-Udhampur Parliamentary segment, BJP termed it political bankruptcy. Commenting on the statement, a BJP spokesman reminded him of his defeat from Ganderbal in 2002 despite the fact that his Party was running the Government in the State. The spokesman said the PDP leader who defeated junior Abdullah at that time was a novice in the politics who belonged to a common Kashmiri family having no political clout like Abdullahs and others. He also reminded him of the 1977 Lok Sabha elections when the then Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi was defeated from Rai Barely by Raj Narayan who had no match with her so far as political clout and statesmanship is concerned. The spokesman said likewise there are several examples in Indian politics where the bigwigs had to eat a humble pie during the hustings and Omar Abdullah should not remain in a false impression and mislead the voters by making hollow claims. The spokesman said that there is a wave of Modi in entire State and over 50 percent Muslims in Kashmir want him to lead the country and continue the Vajpayee's doctrine to rid them from over six decades dynastic rule which was the root cause of present mess and turmoil in the State. The spokesman said that BJP cadres' morale is up as people have assured full support to party and Mr Modi in both the Lok Sabha seats of the State to take J&K on the path of progress and development, grant citizenship rights to West Pak refugees, settle the compensation issue of PoJK, chamb, 1947, 1965 and 1971 refugees, the internally displaced people from Valley and other sections of the society. He said Modi is the first national leader who has been advocating grant of permanent citizenship rights to West Pak refugees. Meanwhile hundreds of youth from Jammu belt working in private sector in Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune and other cities of the country have appealed the people of the State to support BJP and ensure the victory of its candidates Dr Jitendra Singh, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Mushtaq Noorabadi and Thupsang Chewang at hustings to ensure better future of the future generations. Taking a dig at Congress-NC alliance they said thousands of youth have been forced to migrate from the State after the announcement of a consolidated pay of Rs 3000 to newly recruited youth since last year. This is a grave injustice and violation of human rights. These technocrats asked the people especially of Kathua-Udhampur Constituency to ask Mr Azad can a educated youth feed his family on this paltry amount and was not the coalition making the future of these youth deliberately bleak. These technocrats who have formed a trade union have also decided to tour various constituencies and garner support for BJP candidates in the State.
