Jammu, Mar 26: A deputation of ASHA Workers Union - Jammu (affiliated with CITU) led by Sham Prasad Kesar, Senior leader of CITU met Director, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Jammu and submitted a memorandum of demands for their redressal. During the meeting the deputation discussed various demands including recognition of ASHAs' as workers, Implementation of Govt. of India's order dated Jan 3. 2014 for revision of incentive from Rs 10000/- to Rs 16000/- per year, implementation of minimum wages Act, payments on account of Janani Suraksha Yojana, cover under Aam Aadmi Bima Yojna, Cash payment to Beneficiaries, Postnatal checks up, Immunization , Vaccine Carrier, Mobile Charges, Family Planning, 2 Uniforms per year, TA & DA and other problems. The Director NRHM gave a very patience hearing to the deputation and agreed to consider some demands like implementation of Aam Aadmi Bima Yojna as a social security to the ASHA Workers, nominal increase linked with their performance in their incentives upto Rs.1000/- per month , implementation of the Govt of India's Order dated 3.1.14 w.e.f 1.4.2014. He also assured that the demands which are not in his competence will be recommended to the authorities concerned for favourable consideration. Smt Sunita Devi (Gen Secy ASHA Union), Om Parkash (Gen Secy CITU), Kanta Dev Majaltai, Santosh, Sumita, Raj Sharma, Veena, Kanta Kote Romesh Chand and others were part of deputation. |
