Jammu, Mar 26: Members of the Brahmin community today formed a new organization Jammu Kashmir Brahmin Mahasabha (JKBM).
Addressing a press conference, Capt. Anil Gour President JKBMS said that the main objectives of Jammu Kashmir Brahmin Mahasabha (JKBMS) was to bring all the members of Brahmin Samaj under one roof, to provide scholarships to the needy & eligible students of our community, to organise functions to create awareness & discourage the dowry system, illiteracy, drug addiction & other social evils, to give financial & social protection to the widows, divorcees, aged & orphans, to organise functions for spreading awareness about the need for protection of the environment against pollution & deforestation.
They said Jammu Kashmir Brahmin Mahasabha intended to take up the cause of the economically weaker sections of the society & try to ensure that the existing caste based reservation system is replaced by the reservation system for the Economically downtrodden irrespective of their caste.
Those who were present on the occasion included Girish Sharma General Secretary & Executive Body members Dr. Gaurong Sharma, Ram Krishan Sharma, Sudhanshu Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Sachin Sharma, Dalip Baru, Som Sharma & others. |
