| Modi's AK remark against Kejriwal stirs up hot debate on social media | | BJP stalwart's K related comments sends whispers in political circles too | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 26: BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate has once again stirred up a huge debate on the political turf of J&K, this time in calling Arvind Kejriwal AK-49. The AK remark was apparently in reference to his 49-day government in Delhi, albeit in a hard hitting sarcastic manner. The sarcasm and pun in Modi's tone was such that not only in mainstream media but more so on the social media it has raked up strong, heated arguments between the fans of both Modi and Kejriwal, with surfers using choicest abuses and loads of criticism to hit back against both. While it was during his maiden visit to Jammu in December last that Narender Modi raked up a controversy of sorts when he demanded a debate on the sensitive Article 370, a core issue for regional parties as it guarantees special status to J&K. However, more than any other party, it hit the ruling NC which did not take it as normal political statement.Right from Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to others in the party were irked to the hilt and dared Modi for an open debate. They continued to atatck Modi with unwarranted criticism to which neitehr BJP nor the stalwart himself paid any heed. However, this time round, Modi was again at his best in taking on Kejriwal, the man who dared him a day ago for having a direct debate on issues. Modi did not hesitate to hit the nail on as sensitive an issue as Kashmir itself when he said sarcastically, "...AK 49's (kejriwal's AAP) official website shows J&K as not part of India..... His aide (Prashant Bhushan) backs Pak in J&K..... All these AKs are Pakistani agents trying to bleed India......." However, more than the response of the party leaders to this remark, it was virtual fight that began on social media and in response to the news on the internet between the supporters of both the leaders which made an interesting read. While few die hard supporters of Kejriwal defended him on lines of the comment by calling him an AK against corruption and a real threat against the corrupt systemn for the crusade he has launched across the country. However, as the wave in favour of Modi is getting more intense on the social media as well, most of the comments and surfers patted him in making such a reference and even termed as the only saviour of and hope for the country in the present situation of disappointment on all fronts. |
