| 2 killed , 6 injured in road accident | | | Ealry Times Report Rajouri, Mar 27: In a tragic road accident which occurred on Rajouri-Thanamndi road in the evening today, 2 persons were killed while 6 others got multiple fractures and serious injuries and were admitted in the district hospital. Police said that a Tata Megic small passenger vehicle bearing registration No JK11-7224 and carrying 10 passengers skidded off the road at about 6pm in the evening near village Sam Samat and fell 60 feet deep in a rivulet. The injured have been identified as Zaffar Iqbal,Nazir Hussain Lal Hussain, Zaffar Hussain, Shammim Akhter , and Ghulam Mustaffa all resident of village Sam Samat. The deceased have been identified as Talib Hussain s/o Nassar Din and Qari Manzoor s/o Abdul Hamid both also from the same village. Some of the injured said that the probably a minor boy was driving the vehicle and while negotiating a sharp curve near the village could not control the vehicle and it skidded off the road and fell into the rivulet. Some sources said that the road was very narrow at the curve due to debris collected after digging the road side by the BSNL contractor to lay the OFC cable that led to the accident. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Saleem Malik and ASP SK Sharma also rushed to accident site to find out the reason behind the accident. Some injured alleged that traffic police officials deployed on Rajouri-Thanamandi road never check passenger vehicles on money considerations and they must be made responsible for their negligence. Some reliable sources said that the relatives had taken the bodies to the village and police was trying to bring them to hospital for autopsy and legal formalities. |
