| Bhandari felicitates winners of Shrine Board Annual Staff sports meet | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 1: Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, gave away prizes to the winners and runners-up of the Shrine Board Annual Staff Sports Meet at a function held here. As many as 90 officials of the Shrine Board had participated in the sports meet which was organised by the sports wing of the Shrine Board during the month of March in the games of Table Tennis and Badminton. CEO said that the Staff Sports Meet is a component of the annual calendar of sports activities of the Shrine Board. Referring to the large participation in these activities, he appreciated that there is a lot of potential available, which if properly channelized, can bring greater laurels to the organisation. He directed the Sports Wing to include more sports in its itinerary, particularly the ones which are popular in the rural and far-flung areas. The CEO observed that participation in sports helps in keeping mind and body agile and also contribute to superior performance at work. Those who were given prizes included Amit Sharma for being winner in the Inter-Zonal Table Tennis singles category and Dinesh Nanda being the runner-up. In doubles category in this event, Amit Sharma and Munish Prashar were given prizes for being winners and Abhishek Sharma and Vivek Dubey for runners-up. In the Inter-Zonal Badminton event singles category, Vipen Sharma was given the prize for being winner and Sunit Sharma runner-up. As far as double category in this event is concerned, Vipen Sharma and Joginder Singh were given the prize for being winners and Abhishek Sharma and Sumit Gandotra runners-up. The winners and runners-up of Zonal level tournaments in both the games were also felicitated on this occasion. In all, 38 participants of the Sports Meet were given winners and runners-up prizes while the remaining participants were given participation certificates. |
