Dogra Front & Shiv Sena hold protest against PDD, CAPD

Jammu, May 1: Activists of the Dogra Front and Shiv Sena under the leadership of Ashok Gupta took out a procession against the non availability of water and electricity in this hot scorching heat and also raised slogans against the CAPD department for non availability of ration.
By holding empty utensils, fans and water buckets in their hands and raising slogans signifying the lack of responsibility on the government department which has send people back in cave man era marched from Jewel Chowk to Press Club.
Speaking on the occasion Ashok Gupta said when the people are paying their charges for the electricity then why there is no electricity available to the people. He said that after the darbar move the Jammu people are engulfed with the same problem every year.
He alleged that the farmers of the region whose agriculture is totally dependent on electricity could not irrigate their land because the power crisis has completely affected the pumping system in the area. He further stated that in case the situation persists like this the farmers who can't irrigate their fields properly will suffer a huge loss and the Government will be responsible for the same.
He said the farmers who are totally dependent on the agriculture produce are totally perturbed but the Government is unmoved.
He said that the power cuts of longer durations and scarcity of water has made the life of the people a living hell in this peak summer. He also alleged that the PHE tankers which had been supplying drinking water in water deficit areas and have been selling the same to private agencies for commercial purposes. The generation of Hydel Power increases in Jammu areas during summer days but it was intriguing that Jammu has been put to face power crises especially when there is scorching heat of the summer.
He stated that CAPD Department has turned into a corruption hub. While expressing their resentment against the CAPD department, the people charged the department officials including AD Food, TSO and even the dealer for pasting the APL status on the BPL ration cards with an objective to sideline the innocent and poor families from the advantages of BPL quota.
They demanded a high level inquiry into the misplacing of BPL ration quota which is not being distributed among the BPL families.
