| Shock expressed over Jandraiya’s demise | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 1: Hari Chand Jalmeria advocate general secretary and spokesman of JKNPP who is also candidate of the party for Jammu Poonch Lok Sabha seat has expressed great shock over the very sad and untimely demise of famous Dogri writer and folk singer Parduman Singh Jandraiya. Jalmeria said that Jandraiya has made a great contribution to the literature and Sangeet of Dogri language. He was recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademy, Sahatiya Akademy and Dogra Ratan Awards. In his death, the entire state in general and Jammu Pradesh in particular have suffered irreparable loss. Jandraiya also participated in the struggle for inclusion of Dogri in the 8th Schedule. His "Dogri Bhakh" single as well as with Krishan Kumari is world famous and has touched the hearts of all Dogras living in India as well as in Pakistan. Jalmeria, while paying rich tributes to Jandraiya conveyed his heartfelt condolences to his family members. He prayed for his soul to rest in peace. Bhim Singh, Chief Patron NPP in his condolence from New Delhi has expressed shock over the demise of Shri Jandraiya who was awarded Dogra Ratan Award and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family. In the meanwhile a condolence meeting was held at Panthers party headquarters Gandhi Nagar, Jammu in which rich tributes were paid to the departed soul and two minutes silence was observed. |
