| Cop lands in trouble over girl friend's call | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 1: Jammu and Kashmir police personnel landed in troubled waters after his girl friend called him seeking favour/privilege in the shape of not registering FIR against her relative who reportedly had assaulted someone in the locality. "As sought by her girl friend, the cop responded assertively but to his surprise the victim went to senior police officials and complained against the aforesaid cop, police sources said here today Sources within police department said that, I/c PP Chinore SI Rattan Singh Rana was attached following his indifferent behavior to lodge FIR against the assailant. Though, SSP Jammu Atul Goel when contacted said, "The cop was attached following number of complaints against him.' Meanwhile sources said that his attachment order was issued following some persons approached senior police officer alleging that I/CPP Chinore did not lodge FIR against the assailant. The assailant was the relative of the girlfriend of the very cop and obliging the call, sources said and added, "the cop did not lodge FIR, which put him in troubled waters". |
