| DB directs SP Kulgam to appear in person | | PIL on FIR against Judicial Officer Sopore | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 1 : In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by two young Advocates namely Rajnish Raina and Prem Sadotra against registration of FIR no 249/2013 against judicial officer of the State Judiciary by Police Station Sopore (Kashmir), a Special Division Bench (DB) of State High Court comprising Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar and Justice Tashi Rabstan directed registry to issue notice to Superintendent of Police (SP) Kulgam for his personal appearance on next date and also directed Registry to list this PIL after two weeks subject to orders from the chief Justice. After hearing CPO Suresh Kumar Sharma appearing for the State, the Division Bench dismissed the application filed by the SP Kulgam seeking exemption from personal appearance due to election in Kashmir. DB dismissed the same with the observation that with the passage of time, this application is rendered infructuous and is accordingly dismissed. Division Bench while directing SP Kulgam for his personal appearance observed that Secretary Home department has filed compliance report and IGP Kashmir has filed affidavit and CPO Suresh Sharma told the court that Superintendent of Police (SP) Kulgam had not information about listing the case for today.
