| AIDSC pays rich tributes to eminent Dogri folk singer Parduman Singh | | | Early Times Report
Katra, May 2: All India Devotional Song Committee (AIDSC) held a condolence meeting today under the chairmanship of its chairman Rakesh Wazir in which members paid rich tributes to great Dogri folk singer, Sahitya Academy Awardee and State Awardee Parduman Singh who also was judge amongst the judges panel of the competition in past. Paying tributes Rakesh Wazir said that sudden demise of Parduman Singh is a great loss to the society and All India Devotional Song Competition in particular. He recalled that from very beginning late Parduman Singh had remained associated with the said competition and always be a spirit to rope in others to be there in the said competition programme. "His absence would not be compensated in any way and would be great loss to the said competition in particular and to the J&K state in general, he said. It is pertinent to mention here that late soul Parduman Singh was Asstt Station Director All India Radio (AIR) Jammu and also was the singer of famous Dogri Song " Mayu Mayu Kare Mere Billa Te Mere Dil Sadi o Gaya….. besides singer of many other songs" and has the Sahitya Academy Award and State Award in his credit for his unique Folk singing. Prominent among others who paid rich tributes to late soul include Shiv Kumar Sharma, Sardari Lal Dubey, Shyam Lal Kesar, Rakesh Sharma, Swami Yoa Nand Ji Maharaj (chairpersons of different Sub Committee of the Navratra festival programme) besides members of the committee. |
