| Govt Ration shocker: SPO of NC leader, MLC siphons CA&PD ration in Mendhar | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 2: While the genuine Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) consumers are left high and dry after waiting long unending queues outside the CA&PD depots set by the department across the state but to its sharp contrast the SPO (Special Protection Officers) of a senior NC leader and MLC gets the same easily loaded from ration depot in Mendhar that too in official Gypsy while the Police and CA&PD authorities remained beating the bushes, sources said.
According to sources, One J&K Police Havaldar Nazir Ahmed posted with the squad for the senior NC leader and MLC has allegedly got two CA&PD ration (Rice) Bags unloaded at his residence. They said locals in the area resented that Havaldar got the ration unloaded at his residence which is just 100 mts short from the Office of the SDPO Mendhar which reflects the indifferent approach of the law and order agency towards the ongoing pilferage of CA&PD ration.
"While the poor are forced to buy the ration from open market instead from CA&PD depots the influential are getting the same from Government depots without any difficulty,' one of local lamented.
"The whole episode came to light when a local reporter working for an Urdu daily found CA&PD ration being loaded in the Govt Gypsy and he snooped around and even got some photographs to substantiate alleged unholy nexus, sources said.
"The said reporter shared the information with his other colleagues who raised the voice for the cause of the innocent consumers and contacted senior Police officials including CA&PD officials in Mendhar. But to their surprise both the police and CA&PD officials were seen just beating around the bushes in this matter, sources added.
Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO), CA&PD Abdul Khaliq said it was a Mid Day Meal supply, however, at the same time he failed to further justify why the Mid Dal Meal supply is supplied in squad Gypsy (police vehicle). When media persons contacted SHO Mendhar DySP (Probationary) Bhurhan-ul-Haq, he briefly said that the matter is under the investigation of SDPO Mendhar. And SDPO Mendhar when contacted also evading any direct reply said he had heard about it but nobody yet have complained about it. |
