| PDA's influential Class IV employee holds gazetted post, owns property worth crores | | | Saahil Suhail
ANANTNAG, May 2: Enjoying the patronage of senior Congress leaders, Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA) has assigned task of controlling and monitoring illegal contractions to a class IV employee, who has now turned out to be Crorepati after allegedly facilitating illegal construction since the day High Court put a ban on constructions in Pahalgam and surrounding areas.
Employee identified as Fayaz Ahmad Saka of Aishmuqam Anantnag who has been engaged as a helper in the developmental authority is holding the post of law enforcement officer which according to rules was the job of employee who had qualified examination of state's highest recruiting agency- Public Service Commission.
Social activists at Pahalgam directly blame the said employee for unabated illegal constructions in the area as now after the years employee had allegedly earned in crores with other two class IV employees identified as Ghulam Hassan Dar a self styled Employee Union president and Rashid Ahmad. Sources inside the development authority revealed to Early Times that besides number of formal complainants against the class IV employee, no single officer has mustered courage to take action against him as he is believed to be main earner for his political and bureaucratic masters.
"He has connections with almost every officer of the department and others as well ranging from SHO to Commissioners of the state besides he enjoys the patronage of Congress party as he is the relative of Congress leader and close aide of Tourism Minister," sources said. They said that is the only person who has set up a system wherein he brings both the parties on table for compromise. "He is illiterate, what role can he play," sources said.
They said that employee has earned in crores by facilitating illegal constructions besides being the self styled law officer. "He is more dealer than enforcement officer, by practicing such corruptive tact's he has earned a huge amount and owns hotel in Pahalgam on partnership," sources added.
Chief Executive Officer, Pahalgam Development Officer, Reyaz Ahmad Wani when contacted said, "he is holding the charge because of adhocism." When asked about the unabated illegal constructions, he said that he was monitoring it. "Yes, I am monitoring it," he said. |
