| Appointment of nodal principles criticized | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 2: Castigating Health and Medical Education Minister Taj Mohi-ud-din, for recent appointments of nodal principles in newly sanctioned Medical Colleges in Jammu province, National Secular Forum (NSF) on Friday said that without proper infrastructure the MBBS course in newly created colleges would be a cruel joke with people of Jammu region and with those who will get enrolled in these colleges. "State government has recently ordered appointments of nodal principles for newly sanctioned Medical Colleges and has been claiming that the new session will be started from this session. But public of Jammu and especially the youth wants to ask an important question to government that without infrastructure what will be the future of students, who will pursue MBBS courses from these colleges and after attaining degrees from such colleges, in what terms they will serve the public?", Sukhdev Singh, president of National Secular Forum said. He further said that on one hand there was no infrastructure, besides there was already shortage of faculty in Jammu Medical College and Hospital. "Who will teach the MBBS students, who will be enrolled in newly sanctioned colleges and how will they perform, when there are no laboratories in new colleges, which lack other infrastructure also", he said, and castigated that with the appointment of a nodal Principal, what the state government, especially the Medical and Education Minister, wanted to convey to masses. He made an appeal to state government, to firstly create the essential infrastructure and options for faculty, before starting of session in the newly sanctioned colleges. Among those who were present in the press-conference included, Barket Ali, Ajaz Shah, Amit Sanotra, and Rishikesh Rana. |
