Jammu, May 2: Continuing its ongoing stir J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu (BAJ) held a protest Dharna in District Courts Complex in the morning and thereafter held a meeting in the forenoon at High Court Complex, Jammu alongwith various organizations which have extended their moral support to advocates stir against suspension of police officer allegedly involved in harassing and manhandling of one of their colleague on the other day. BAJ also has called Jammu Bandh on coming Monday. The members in this meeting irrespective of their political affiliation, who with one voice condemned the action of the alleged manhandling by police and extended support to the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu. Speaking at the meeting convened by the President JKHCBA, M K Bhardwaj the representatives and office bearers of all the organizations expressed grave concern over the deteriorating conduct and high headedness of police while performing public duties. President JKHCBA Mohinder Kumar Bhardwaj called upon the concerned authorities to suspend the erring Police officials by Saturday evening failing which the people of Jammu Province shall observe complete shutdown (Bandh) on Monday. All the members of different organizations present in the meeting assured President JKHCBA and members of Bar Assocaition, of full cooperation from their side in making the Jammu Bandh Call a success. J&KHCBA Jammu extends its thanks to the Bar Associations of Districts and Muffasils across the Jammu region which also has suspended work in Courts while showing solidarity with the J&K High Court Bar Assocaition, Jammu against the unfortunate incident and further appeal them to hold peaceful demonstrations in their respective area.Association is also highly thankful to State BJP, JPPF, JWAM, JKNPP, Samajwadi Party, NCP, Youth wing of PDP, Chamber of Commerce, the Students union, other organization and general public who have expressed their solidarity with it. |
