SRINAGAR, May 2: A policeman was killed today when his service rifle went off accidentally in Anantnag district of Kashmir, police said.
Selection grade Constable Abdul Rashid died on the spot after his service rifle went off accidentally inside an ashram at Doru in Anantnag, 75 kms from here, police said.
Rashid, a resident of Kokernag in south Kashmir, was posted on guard duty at the Gosaingund Ashram in Doru.
Police said body has been sent for post mortem and investigation is on from all possible angles, including murder. |
