| Social Welfare employee held for selling Anganwari ration | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, May 2: Kishtwar police today register an FIR 65/14 U/S 409 RPC & 3/7 EEC against Social Welfare Department employee identified by the police as Jabbar Amin @Jony son of Mohammed Amin Sheikh resident of Sarkoot Kishtwar for alleged embezzlement of Anganwari ration which was seized by Kishtwar police late last night. The accused Jabbar Amin is the 4th class employee of Social Welfare Department. As per the details given by the police, Kishtwar police party from police station Kishtwar on the bases of the input given by the people of Kuleed, Kishtwar conducted raid in the department store located inside the village and seized 9 tins of mustard oil meant for Anganwari centers. Police said that the arrested person was about to load the tins in private vehicle along with other material when he was nabbed by the police. They said that the accused has also hired private vehicle (Tata pickup) load carrier in which the accuse loaded the Anganwari stock, but added that after seeing the police party coming, the vehicle drive escaped from the spot. Police launched hunt to nab the vehicle and other accused on board. After registration of an FIR, Kishtwar police produce the accused in court and hearing the police plea, the judge handed over the accuse in police custody for seven days. Police is also verifying the role of other officials of the department as preliminary investigation revealed that such huge embezzlement of government ration is not possible without the support of other officials of the department. It is pertinent to mention that several people in past complaint about the non functional of the Anganwari centres, particularly in rural areas of not only in Kishtwar district but in entire state. |
