| Interim relief in favour of Central, State employees, pensioners demanded | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 3 : President of the National Mazdoor Conference(NMC) Subash Shastri today urged upon the Chairman of the 7th pay commission that after lifting up off model code of conduct, commission should recommend to the new Central Govt. to accord the interim relief in favor of both Central/State Governments employees and pensioners to the tune of 20 % interim relief in basic pay / pension, merger of 50% DA with the basic pay / pension and enhancement of retirement age of 62 years in case of Central Govt. employees. In a memorandum sent to Retired Justice Ashok Mathur Chairman of the 7th pay commission, Shastri said that the commission should concentrate on the given terms of reference seriously so that the interim and final recommendations of the 7th pay commission come out in the given specified time frame. Shastri further appealed to the chairman of the 7th pay commission to make encouraging and practical recommendations in view of the hiking in inflation and price hike. He emphasized that whenever the recommendation of the commission are submitted to the Central Govt., the Commission should extending these recommendations to the State Governments in general and J&K particular so that the State Govt. employees does not have wait for extending of 7th pay commission benefits to them by restraining them from resorting agitation path. NMC Chief also urged him to start negotiations with representatives of Associations/unions/Federations of Central governments employees and pensioners so that report could be submitted with in stipulated period. This will help the commission to make realistic recommendations to the Govt. "Since twenty months left to complete pay commission report, it has been urged to the Chairman and other members of the 7th pay commission to pay visit to all states of the country to obtain views of State Governments employees and pensioners organizations may also be benefited out of." he added. Shastri also urged Mathur to formulate National pay policy for both central and state Govt. employees and pensioners adding that the 7th pay commission should be declare 7th pay commission as National pay commission |
