Jammu, May 3 : Natrang inaugurated its Weekend Theatre Club for Children here today at Natrang Studio Theatre, Kachi Chawni with an aim to make children aware of their own self-actualizations with the help of expert training them. "The workshop is being conducted by Sumeet Sharma who has sufficient experience of doing theatre with children, Neeraj Kant- a veteran theatre artist and Aarushi Thakur, a young theatre director and a trained artist at the workshop at RADA (London), spokesperson said. "Other than this many other experts of different art-fields like Music, Dance, Painting etc would be coming as visiting faculty to impart vast knowledge and exposure to the participants, he said. "Confidence, creativity, spontaneity, alertness, public speaking, self exploration, discipline and punctuality etc are pre-requites of theatre, thus the same will be imparted to the children in a very comprehensive and playful manner to the children during this programme, spokesperson added. Spokesperson stated that National School of Drama has also been roped in to provide expert faculty to Natrang. "The workshop is being coordinated by Mohd Yaseen. Spokesperson maintained that Children Theatre is in the State for the last 24 years, it has trained, inspired and motivated thousands of children till now and most of them have excelled brilliantly in various fields. In his inaugural address Balwant Thakur said that children have immense possibilities and abilities to excel but they are required to be explored through such highly innovative techniques of theatre and arts. They are required to be infused self confidence and equipped with new tools of communication, organising self and public speaking. |
