| New KP organisation seeks single township in Valley | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 3: The newly formed Democratic Party of displaced Kashmiri Pandits today resolved to accelerate the struggle for rehabilitation of Pandits in Kashmir by creating a single township for them within Valley. This was stated at a press conference here today by the president of the Party Satish Pajnoo, its vice president Pushkar Nath and general secretary TK Dhar. Pajnoo said that creation of single township was the only viable solution for the settlement of displaced Pandits in Valley. For last over 24 years the displaced Pandits are leading an exiled life outside the Valley and their return was not possible in isolated places or ancestral villages or areas in view of the prevailing situation in Kashmir, he added. The Government should take concrete steps in this regard, he said adding it was high time for Government to take an initiative in this regard. Pajnoo said his organisation will strive for forging unity among various orgranizations of Pandits and work for coordination among various other KP organisations in settling the long pending demands of the displaced people and launch a decisive battle for their rights. He said the aboriginals of Kashmir, the Pandits can't abdicate their cardinal rights and responsibilities their land of ancestors. Pajnoo said the main objective of his organisation is to work earnestly for reclaiming of roots and rehabilitation of migrants in Valley with honour and dignity as per their wishes. Besides the organisation will work for the welfare of the community and create a grievances cell with the objective of redressing the grievances of the community. He said not even a single percent of the CDF at the disposal of MLAs and MLCs and the organisation will strive hard to ensure that the funds are used for the development of migrant bastis also. He said the organization will work for implementation of PM's package in letter and spirit, proper heath care facilities in the camps and also work for eradication of malpractices in the Relief Organisation. He said organisation has strongly condemned the Government for making the voting process a cumbersome issue for migrants and it will take up the issue with EC so that the voting procedure for migrants is simplified. |
