| HC issues direction to Principal Dental College Jammu | | | Jammu, May 3: The High Court today issued direction to Principal Dental College Jammu over mutual migration of two students. In a petition filed by Abhishek R Krishna seeking direction to respondent to promote him to the final professional BDS Regular Batch-2014, Justice Tashi Rabstan of J&K High Court Jammu Wing after hearing petitioner in person, issued notice to respondents for filling objections from the other side and till next date of hearing before the Bench Court directed Principal Indira Gandhi Govt Dental College Jammu to promote the petitioner provisionally to the final professional BDS Regular Batch-2014 till the Commissioner/Secretary ARI Training directs petitioner and the private respondent (who mutually migrated their seats) vacate their present seats and to join their original colleges at Jammu/Srinagar. While directing Principal Indira Gandhi Govt Dental College Jammu, Justice Tashi Rabstan observed that vide Govt order dated March 24, 2012, sanction was accorded to the migration of the petitioner from Govt Dental College Srinagar to Govt Dental College Jammu on mutual basis. After sanction, a letter was received from University whereby it has been informed that a letter had been received from Dental Council of India wherein it had been stated that the migration of the students should be allowed only after prior approval of dental Council of India as per the revised BDS training Course 2007. On receipt of said communication, respondents taken-up the matter with Dental Council of India seeking rectification of the action taken by the department as one time exception to the safeguard the interest of these two students and in the response of dental council, it has been said that the Executive Committee of the council has not agreed with the mutual exchange (migration) of Abhishek R Krishna and Gousia Amin and petitioner challenge the same.
