JAMMU, May 13: Bhalwal zone boys clinched both under-14 and under-17 kho-kho titles in the two-day inter-zone competitions of Jammu district, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Green Field ground, here today.
In the under-14 title clash, Bhalwal zone trounced Miran Sahib Zone 2-1. Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, Bhalwal boys defeated Akhnoor Zone 3-1 while Miran Sahib outplayed Bishnah Zone 4-1.
The under-17 kho-kho trophy also went to Bhalwal zone after they beat Akhnoor zone 7-5 in the final. In the semifinals, Bhalwal defeated Khour zone 26-03 in a one-sided contest and Akhnoor outplayed Chowki Choura Zone 10-01.
KABADDI: Meanwhile, Bhalwal zone and Dansal Zone won the under-17 and under-14 kabaddi finals played at Green Field ground, here today. In the under-17 final, Bhalwal beat Akhnoor Zone 62-49. Earlier, in the semifinals, Bhalwal trounced Chowki Choura Zone 52-29 while Akhnoor zone beat Miran Sahib 44-38.
The under-14 kabaddi title went to Dansal Zone boys, who beat Bhalwal 40-16. In the semifinals, played today, Dansal beat Miran Sahib Zone 53-39 and Dansal defeated Bhalwal Zone 41-11.
VOLLEYBALL: The volleyball under-17 title went to Khour zone beating Akhnoor zone in straight sets. Earlier, in the semifinals, Khour beat Gandhi Nagar zone 2-0 while Akhnoor zone defeated Bhalwal 2-1.
