Poonch, May 14 : Doctors engaged under the new health policy of Government of India i.e. Ayush-an initiative to explore the Indian System of medicines is suffering badly in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch town as the mobile teams of doctors sent to this town on duty are deep neck involved in cross prescription of medicines against the directions passed by Directorate of Indian System of Medicines (DISM) and Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHS). According to different circular issued from DISM and DHS Sringar, vide number DISM/Gen/609-22 dated 21.05.2010 number DISM/Gen/3620/57 dated 29.08.2011 number DISM/783/830 dated 07.02.2011 and number DISM/1891-1905 dated 18.03.2011 etc by virtue of which Ayush doctors were impressed upon to adhere to their own system of medicines for which they are registered and not to prescribe medicines of other systems for which they are not registered. By virtue of the same circular, the CMOs/Medical Superintendents/BMOs of health institutions were also advised that doctors working under their administrative control do not resort to prescribing of other medicines for which they are not registered under law. But according to sources, numbers of complaints have been lodged with the office of BMO tehsil Mendhar, Surankote, Mandi and Poonch about such practices in the town but neither BMOs nor CMO concerned has taken any cognizance of the same. |
