Early Times Report Srinagar, May 13: Thirty-two fresh guests from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) were among 40 people to cross sides at Kaman Post, the last Indian military post on this side of the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector, official sources said here today. They said the Karvan-e-Aman bus run was disrupted for several hours after a landslide and shooting stones, triggered, blocked the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road at Bhatar Meel yesterday. However, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and local administration immediately put into service sophisticated machines and men and put through the road again. Sources said 32 POK residents, including 16 women, arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot to meet their relatives separated in 1947. However, there was no Kashmiri returnee, they added. They said five Kashmiris, including two women crossed over to POK. There were three POK returnees, including a woman and two children, who returned to their homes after completing stay in Kashmir with their relatives. The bus service, started on April 7,2005 has helped thousands of families divided due to partition to meet each other on 'Travel Permits' instead of International passports. |
