Former SSP Manohar Singh released on bail

jammu, May 13 : In a much Publicized Amandeep Murder case, 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Nighat Sultana today issued docket for release of then SSP Manohar Singh from Jail, as the Supreme Court has granted conditional Bail.
Advocate Ashwani Khajuria filed an application with the order of Supreme Court of India dated May 9, 2014 whereby the Apex Court has granted conditional bail to then SSP Manohar Singh who is in Jail for the last more than 4 ½ yrs, 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Nighat Sultana directed to furnish bail bond and personal bond to the tune of Rs 1 lac each which was furnished. A Bench Comprising Justice FM Ibrahim Kalifualla and Justice A.K. Sikri granted conditional bail to the appellant with conditions which were imposed while granting bail to the co-accused Rakesh Singh in Criminal Appeal No. 1610 of 2012. According to the conditions, the appellant on being released on bail, shall remove himself from the State of Jammu & Kashmir and shall not enter the territory of the said State except in connection with the trial which is continuing. On the days when the trial is conducted, the appellant shall be permitted to enter the State and to appear in the Court in question and, if required, shall stay within the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the days of the trial only. The appellant shall indicate the place where he will be staying during the said period, to the Investigating Officer concerned. At other times, wherever the appellant may be staying, he shall report to the Station House Officer of the local police station once every Sunday at 11.00 a.m. and the said officer shall keep the Investigating Officer of this case informed accordingly. In case of the appellant's default of any of these conditions, the State will be entitled to apply to the Trial Court for cancellation of the bail granted by this Court."
