Jammu, June 1: "National Conference president Farooq Abdullah was miffed with the deliberations in the party meeting held at Jammu and left it mid-way. Sources said Farooq was not happy the way things were projected in the meeting by a section of the leaders.", "It was the first meeting of the NC in Jammu after its debacle in the parliamentary elections. Farooq had specifically come here to hear the party especially gross root leaders but got irritated with the proceedings of the meeting," they said adding a section of leaders tried to convey that all was well in Jammu unit of the party. Dr Farooq was also miffed by the fact that despite the drubbing the party had got, "some leaders were still not accepting the reality and trying to project a rosy picture of the party." Farooq conveyed that this culture of darbaris would not be accepted and if the party has to resurrect then harsh realities of the total disconnect has to be accepted, The NC president was also not given answers why the PDP could increase its tally in the Jammu by about 60, 000 votes despite the fact that Chief Minister himself campaigned intensively in the Rajouri-Poonch districts. The NC president was so upset by the answers of the party that he walked out of the meeting. |
