| Minor injured in detonator blast at Rajouri | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, June 1: In an accidental detonator blast, an eight year old boy was injured which left him with amputated thumb and two fingers partially. As per police reports the incident took place at about 3 pm on Saturday at village Rajdhani under Manjakot police station when the boy was fiddling with the detonator which he found on the road near his house. Police added that the widening/construction work on a road near the house of the victim in village Rajdhani was in progress and the detonator might have left unexplored while blasting the rocks. The boy identified as Rashid son of Basharat, while on way to house picked the detonator and started fiddling with it which exploded in the campus of his house causing serious injuries in the right hand.He was immediately shifted to the district hopspital by the family members and villager and also informed the police. Officiating SHO, Owais, DSP probationer also rushed to the spot and personnely supervised the initial investigation to find reason whether the detonator was left deliberately or inadvertently. "After preliminary investigation the police will register a case under relevant sections against those who will be found responsible for the abandoned detonator" said DSP. When contracted Dr Salam officiating medical superintendent said that the boy was out of danger but his right hand thumb was amputated to save his life. |
