| Pahari Cultural Manch organizes cultural programme | | | Early Times Report
Bani, June 28: In order to promote the cultural values of mountainous areas of J&K in general and district Kathua in particular, Pahari Cultural Manch organized a mega cultural programme at Bani here today.
MLA of Bani Lal Chand was the chief guest while eminent citizens of area and a large gathering of locals were present on this occasion.
In his address MLA Lal Chand exhorted the young generation to come forward to protect the values of Pahari culture which has its own importance in the history of state. Meantime to encourage the spirit of the host organization, the president of Youth Congress Bani Anayat Parvez has donated a cash prize of Rs3100 to the Manch and lauded the initiative from the host cultural organization.
On the occasion, Pahari, Dogri, and Panjabi songs were performed by the young performers from the Manch.
In the end chairman of the Manch, Gyasu Din said that the values of Pahari culture are declining under the influence modern culture and thus it becomes obligatory to promote the essence and importance of the traditional cultural ethos. |
