Early Times Report Jammu, June 28: As the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is making a fuss of mission 44+ in the state, the party must face the reality as from where they can earn these seats. This is only a poll gimmick which the BJP leaders of Jammu, whose base is shattered and doesn't have any image in front of people, are trying to bring a false feel among people of the state. Going by facts available, one can judge with this simple code that Jammu region has only 37 Assembly constituencies and even if a party, like BJP, wins all these seats, its mission 44+ will not be achieved. If two seats of Leh district are added into this tally, still this mission can't be achieved. During the LokSabha elections, if BJP was able to win three seats, Jammu, Udhampur and Ladakh, it was because of the personal charisma of the incumbent Prime Minister, NarendraDamodardassModi. Two Jammu region candidates of BJP didn't have any background to get votes on their own. Now, tally few more facts which emerged out after LokSabha polls. The BJP was not able to get lead in a single Assembly segment of erstwhile districtDoda and two segments of Reasi district, Gool-Arnas and Gulabgarh. The situation in Rajouri and Poonch district was also not so good for the BJP, whcih hints that the saffron party couldn't even get 25 seats, if erstwhile Doda, two seats of Reasi, Rajouri and Poonch districts are omitted out. Then comes another fact that people of plains of Jammu, from where the BJP was able to get 11 seats during 2008 elections, are well aware of this fact that these 11-MLAs have let the people down and the recent expose of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has further exposed these so called leaders of Jammu. There are many other factors which will be there during the Assembly polls and BJP may not be able to regain these 11 seats. |
